What is the passing score?
Historically equivalent to roughly 70–72% (pass points vary by form difficulty). The current minimum standard is 400 on the scaled score.
How many questions are on the exam?
115 questions appear; 100 are graded (you won’t be told which). The exam is proctored.
How much time do I have?
3 hours (180 minutes). The timer cannot be paused; the time is sufficient for the 115 questions.

The API 1169 credential is valid for 3 years. Every 6 years inspectors complete an online, open-book quiz (~25 questions; 4 hours total, pausable up to 3 times) covering changes to relevant documents.
